Work Pipeline A

1)Start with a planar sketch

2)Import the sketch into Photoshop

3)Make a greyscale mask for each element (e.g. building, tree, mound, etc). The greyscale tone you use here is to reflect roughly how much light the object is absorbing. If it is in direct light you might want to use very light tone, if the object is in darkeness you may want to use a very dark tone.
The mask you make should be made with either the Freehand tool, Pen tool or an opaque brush.  Once the mask is made you should refine it by using a specific brush (e.g. a grass brush, a blur brush, etc) that reflects what is inside the mask.
•Freehand tool best for organic shapes
•Pen tool best for shapes with clear perspective lines (e.g. buildings, cars)
•Brush tool best for characters and detailed elements

4) Within the mask folder you will put:
Colour Layer (utilising Colour Blend Mode)
Reflection Layer
Highlight layer
Shadow Layer
Shadow Layer 2 (optional)
Base Layer Tone

•For the colour layer remeber to move t
